Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Mrs. Mascari (sounds like Scary) and I am THRILLED to be your teacher this year! I grew up in Westchester in a family of four. I have one sibling, a younger brother Jeff, who is a Professor at Syracuse University. I attended Loyola Marymount University…GO LIONS! I was originally an Art History major but switched to Liberal Studies because I knew that my true passion was teaching. I spent my first 3 years teaching in the Wiseburn School District at Peter Burnett Elementary. This is my sixteenth year teaching at Meadows. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade during my 19 year career, but 3rd grade is by far my favorite!
I have been married for 15 years. Marco (who is a CTO at UCLA) and I have two kiddos. Nick is 11 and will be a 5th grader this year. Mady is 8 and will be a 3rd grader. They both go to school near our home in the Wiseburn School District.
A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:
DRINK: Lots of water (La Croix Lemon or Lime) but I love a latte from Starbucks or Coffee Bean.
RESTAURANT: CPK with the family, TIN ROOF or MANGIAMOS for date night
FAST FOOD: Tender Greens, Chicken Maison, Manhattan Bread & Bagel
PLACE: Disneyland – I LOVE everything Disney!
HOBBIES: Running! Making crafts, working out, spending time with my family and friends.
Interesting Fact: I rarely drink soda and I try not to eat too many sweets.
Fun Fact: I started running 6 years ago. Since then I have run 2 full marathons (26.2 miles), 25 half marathons (13.1 miles) and a whole lot of 5 & 10k’s. My running partner is Mrs. Jones (5th grade teacher). I have more races planned for this school year!
I can’t wait to spend the year learning, growing, and working with each family to make this year SUCCESSFUL!
